Bissman Building

The Bissman Bldg. is a great place to investigate! OPI did it first in Sept. 2012. We returned in October with a group of first time investigators as part of the Mid-Ohio Psychic/Paranormal Convention. Ben Bissman, owner of the building, gave us an orientation talk. OPI had fun, and it seems like our group did, too. We split into two troupes, one led by Angel and Rob, and one led by Greg and me, along with our trainee, Dorothy. Angel and Rob’s band were able to communicate with Ruthie, the little Bissman girl who stays in the building.

Our party spoke with Adam, a little boy, in the garage. He initially told us he was a man, but eventually, we realized he is a little boy of 10! He likes to work on the cars. In the basement, we again met Murphy. The ovilus has relayed the name Murphy to us several times. The last time, he said he was English, through the ovilus. This time, he told us he was Irish. He didn’t say much more, refusing to answer questions. When I asked him if he had many secrets, he responded in the affirmative. We think he may have been a member of the group involved in the brothel, gambling, and speakeasy back in the 1920s. Further investigation may give us more clues. We saw some shadow figures in the cellar, too. In the area the negative spirit dwells, the ovilus relayed the words “mommy and hugs” which is an attempt to play on maternal instincts. Barb, my sister, told it to “Get away from us! Leave us alone!” and we continued our investigation. This approach seems to work. One of our group took a picture of the closet in the roasting room, and caught a red rod of light or energy. We heard footsteps, but saw no one. I was touched on the head. Barb and Dorothy felt lightheaded.

Ben Bissman has many experiences. While we were there, he said he heard chanting. While he was talking to us about it, we have an EVP clearly saying the word, “yesterday.” We are unsure about what this meant.
